Greetings!
I hope this holiday season is a special one for all and that this letter finds you and yours happy and healthy.
I am very excited to start this journey as NESO President.
I moved to Massachusetts in 2015 without knowing a single dentist or orthodontist in New England. It became clear to me that a great way to meet colleagues and to have a voice in the direction our profession was heading was to become involved in our association. After a few minutes of trying to find the right words to Google, I landed on the NESO website and sent NESO my first email asking how I could be involved.
That single email changed my professional experience. Today, I can appreciate how much NESO and the AAO do for our profession. I’ve learned so much about leadership and organized dentistry. I’ve met wonderful and committed colleagues that I am fortunate to call friends along the way.
The takeaway message from my first “Letter from the President” is this: be involved! We have great opportunities to volunteer. It is truly a life-enriching experience.
