AAO Calls for Nominations
> Component Advisory Liaison
On behalf of the AAO Council on Government Advocacy (COGA), we are seeking candidates for the role of Component Advisory Liaison (CAL). The AAO has begun the process of building a National Advocacy Network (NAN) of state-level advocates. NESO seeks interested individuals from each state in our constituency. If you ever wanted to be in a position to influence AAO advocacy policy, this is a wonderful opportunity. Learn more about this role here.
NESO Calls for Committee Members
NESO needs your help! We are currently seeking volunteers to serve in the following Committees and would appreciate your application if you think it would be a good fit. Committees typically meet bi-monthly.
We encourage you to take an active role in our association by applying or nominating a peer whom you think would bring insight, ideas and leadership to the Committees. Further, we believe that diversity is a strength and ensuring the involvement of our diverse membership will only make NESO stronger. As such, please consider applying if you are, or nominating a peer who is from an underrepresented group (URG) for these roles.
> Communications Committee
The committee will promote lay and general education in orthodontics, foster cooperation between the Society and other organizations in dentistry, encourage and promote high standards of professional quality and keep the Society informed on matters affecting the specialty of orthodontics. >>Learn more
This Committee be composed of the Chair, who will be the appointed Communications Director and up to four additional members who will serve two-year terms, renewable up to three terms. The Committee meets quarterly via Zoom.

> Leadership Development Committee
The responsibilities of the committee are to identify and solicit future leaders and to provide the necessary leadership tools to the identified future leaders.
This Committee shall consist of the CONYM rep as Chair, the Secretary, a Past President (appointed by the President), and up to two member volunteers for a term of two years. The Chair may appoint (on an ad hoc basis) additional committee members as needed to accomplish the responsibilities of the committee.

> Membership Committee
The Committee will support membership engagement and growth by creating opportunities for engagement through NESO member outreach and communication.
The Committee will be composed of the Chair, the Communications Director, representatives from COMEJC and CONYM, and up to three additional members who will serve 2-year terms. The Committee meets quarterly via Zoom.

> Inclusion & Engagement Committee
The Committee will seek to promote and establish a pathway towards increased diversity within NESO membership and volunteer leadership.
The Committee will be composed of the Chair and up to eight members, who will serve a two-year term, renewable up to three terms. Learn more

> Annual Meeting Planning Committee
The Committee will plan the NESO Annual Meeting in conjunction with the management team. The Committee will be composed of the NESO President as Chair and up to four additional members, including a new and younger member.
Applications for each year’s planning committee will be accepted starting Sept 1 – Nov 1 of the prior year. The next call for AMPC members will be September 2024 for the 2025 Annual Meeting.
