Letter from the President

Dr. Jeffrey Blasius
NESO President

Fellow NESO Colleagues,

First of all, I want to wish everyone a very happy holiday season in 2019!  I hope 2020 brings all of our members the best of health, happiness, and prosperity.

With the close of what was an exciting NESO annual session in Boston, I was inducted as President of our organization, and I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself.

I graduated in 2001 from the University of Connecticut under the tutelage of Drs. Ravi Nanda and Charles Burstone.  I was so fortunate to have been part of such a strong residency program with some wonderful classmates and academic faculty.  I have been involved in NESO for roughly ten years.  I have served on the Council of Membership, Ethics and Judicial Concerns, on the delegation to the House of Delegates of the AAO, and a number of planning Committees for the annual sessions.

Our 2020 meeting team of Drs. Flavio Uribe, Gary Opin, and Sunil Wadhwa are putting together a great meeting in Montreal on November 6-7, 2020.  We are planning a series of interesting and relevant continuing education speakers that promise to be a good mix of scientific and practice topics.  We encourage you to bring your staff (don’t forget to renew your passports!) for what will be an incredible team building event in an enjoyable city.  We hope to be able to provide you and your staff some great take-home pearls and a fun, memorable meeting.

I intend to spend the next year serving NESO with the same passion and determination as my predecessors.  I encourage and implore you to reach out with any recommendations, thoughts, suggestions and concerns.  The future of our specialty is of utmost importance to NESO.  We strive to make NESO as relevant to your practice success as possible.  I also encourage anyone who is interested in becoming involved to reach out, as our future depends on the infusion of fresh minds and passionate, involved individuals.

It is my honor to serve you, our NESO members, and look forward to the year ahead.

Yours,

Jeff Blasius DMD, MDS, MPH
