Letter from Dan Stuart – NESO President

Dan Stuart

I am humbled to be your President in the 100th Anniversary year of NESO in 2021. What a year 2020 has been. As your fellow orthodontic colleague, I know that there have been many challenges in our clinics. Not only did you have to reassure your staff and patients, sometimes we had to reassure ourselves that everything would be fine.  While the pace of our clinics slowed down, technology seemed to surge ahead. Virtual consultations, scanning instead of impressions, making our own aligners, digital work flow, 3D printed braces – you know the list goes on. The question becomes -what is the best way for your office to move forward?

Behind the scenes at NESO, the Board of Directors are working for you. We have listened and we want to deliver a higher value for your membership dollars this year.  You asked for better scientific lectures, more and better access to CE, quality practice management lectures, more lectures for staff, and better engagement among members.

In 2021, we are going to deliver – all of it and more. We will be introducing podcasts throughout the year – chat with a thriving orthodontist, learn how they succeeded but also what they would do differently; new graduates provide real life advice to residents, and industry-leading clinicians and vendors share pearls of advice that we used to discuss in casual face-to-face conversations.

More importantly, NESO and the AAO are continuing to work together to bring you scientific, clinically relevant, top quality continuing education. Stay tuned for what is coming in 2021! It’s fantastic. I promise.

We will make it through this pandemic together. Stay safe. Stay connected to the organizations that educate and advocate for you.

Dan Stuart

President, NESO
