Component update – New York
Dr. Yuna Park
The New York State Society of Orthodontists (NYSSO) welcomed members to its 2026 Biennial Annual Meeting on Friday, March 20, 2026, at NYU College of Dentistry, for a focused morning of continuing education and professional engagement. The program featured Dr. Jae Hyun Park, Professor and Chair of the Postgraduate Orthodontic Program at the Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health, Immediate Past President of the American Board of Orthodontics, and Editor-in-Chief of both the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics and the AJO-DO Clinical Companion.
Dr. Park delivered an engaging, evidence-based presentation on the use of temporary anchorage devices (TADs) in contemporary orthodontic treatment, with particular attention to Class II correction with TADs and clear aligners, as well as Class III correction through mandibular distalization versus maxillary protraction.
The program brought together approximately 90 orthodontists and residents from across the region, including participants from Columbia, NYU, St. Barnabas, and Maimonides. The strong turnout and participation from both practitioners and residents reflected the continued importance of the Biennial Annual Meeting as a forum for advancing clinical excellence, strengthening professional community, and supporting orthodontic education across New York. By bringing together leading scholarship, practical treatment strategies, and collegial exchange, the biennial meeting offered members a valuable opportunity to deepen their knowledge and reconnect with peers.
