Resident Reflections: Why are you involved with the AAO?

Resident Reflections: Why are you involved with the AAO?

AAO has been a wealth of resources and information throughout my residency, and I expect it to continue to be an integral part of my career. Many of my peers and I were supported financially while attending our first AAO conference as residents in LA. Additionally, it provided various avenues for residents to network with each other! Now, in my final year of residency, I use the Career Center frequently to search for jobs after graduation. I intend to stay an active member of AAO to take advantage of the plethora of resources including insurance and practice management adjuncts, and of course to attend the conference in Hawaii in 2022!

The AAO has been an invaluable resource as a resident. Going to meetings and working with associated educators has given me the opportunity to learn from world-class leaders in the field and allowed for connections with future colleagues and partners from across the country. Now in my third year of residency, AAO has been instrumental in connecting me not only with potential employers but most importantly, with tools needed to launch my professional career. I look forward to continued participation in an organization that values innovation in patient care and paves the way for the newest generation of orthodontists.
