Mission, Bylaws and Policy

The Northeastern Society of Orthodontists (NESO) is a not-for-profit corporation, recognized as a constituent of the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO). NESO serves orthodontists in the states of Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York and the Canadian provinces of Quebec, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland.

Our Mission

To engage and inspire members through education, advocacy, and research in orthodontics

Our Vision

We provide our members needed support and trusted resources to deliver the highest quality orthodontic care and foster leadership regionally and within the AAO.

The organization of NESO is inclusive, transparent and open to change to reflect the changes in society and lifestyles. We plan to make NESO volunteer opportunities short-term and task-oriented rather than long-term committee commitments. If you would like to become involved in the leadership of NESO, view the Pathway to Leadership or contact NESO headquarters.

Diversity Statement

NESO takes pride in the diversity of our constituency.  We are committed to creating an inclusive environment within our organization, where members of all backgrounds are encouraged and emboldened to be the best advocates of orthodontic care. We are dedicated to promoting diversity within our leadership and within the orthodontic profession, through the identification and mentorship of emerging diverse leaders and outreach initiatives in underserved communities. NESO promotes open dialogue with our members, always striving to improve member engagement.
